The new Delphis-TeamLines Group is one of the 5 largest common feeder operators in the world.
6 July 2006 - The maritime transport company Delphis anoounced its acquisition of TeamLines. With this deal Delphis becomes a Pan-European group serving clients from the Iberian Peninsuia to the Baltic ports. As a result of the deal Delphis will have 8 branches in Belgium/ Germany/ Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Portugal and Poland and 9 offices in 8 other countries. The new group has 45 ships 155 amployees and a turnover of more than 340 million Euro in 2006.
Delphis has its head office in Antwerp. "This development is an important and strategic step for Delphis, one that will enable us to further consolidate our position in "short sea shipping'," said Alexander Saverys, Managing Director of Delphis.
TeamLines has 129 employees, 90 of whorn are employed in the head office in Hamburg, 26 in Helsinki (Finland), 10 in Goteborg (Sweden) and 3 in Oslo (Norway).
"The purchase of TeamLines fits into Delphis' strategy perfectly. After a strong organic growth, we decided to focus on acquisitions and partnerships. This means that our European network will be extended to Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Russia," stated Chris Vermeersch, Business Development and Finance Manager of Delphis. Delphis-TeamLines Group's coverage will stretch from Gibraltar to Saint Petersburg and cover all destinations in Northern, Eastern and Western Europe.
